UT Health Austin, the clinical practice of the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, is excited to announce the opening of its new on-site Ambulatory Surgery Center, which has achieved accreditation through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). UT Health Austin’s Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) gives patients (14 years and older) and their physicians a convenient and safe alternative for outpatient and selected short-stay surgical procedures. Accreditation distinguishes a surgical center from other outpatient facilities through its adherence to rigorous standards of care and safety.

“By seeking AAAHC accreditation, we, as an organization, undergo extensive self-assessment and onsite survey by AAAHC surveyors,” says J. Stuart Wolf, Jr., MD, FACS, who serves as the Medical Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center at UT Health Austin. “Ongoing compliance and continuous improvement are a part of the accreditation process, which fits well with our dedication to excellence in care delivery and providing the best possible experience for both patients and providers.”

Patients of the Ambulatory Surgery Center and their families have access to all of the resources and amenities UT Health Austin has to offer, including an integrated care model, attached garage parking, comfortable waiting areas, an on-site cafe, a full-service H-E-B pharmacy, and advanced imaging and lab testing.
