Clinical Biography
Samantha Catanzano, PharmD, BCPP, is a board-certified psychiatric pharmacist and a part of UT Health Austin’s Health Social Work care team, where she provides consultative and drug therapy management services for patients with complex pharmacy and mental health needs. She specializes in providing safe, evidence-based therapy for a variety of conditions, and her services include reviewing medication regimens, monitoring treatment efficacy, counseling, and education. Additionally, Dr. Catanzano is a clinical assistant professor in The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Catanzano earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Texas at Austin and her bachelor’s in biological chemistry from The University of Texas at Arlington. She completed both a postgraduate year one residency in pharmacy practice and a postgraduate year two residency in psychiatric pharmacy at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and Seton Healthcare Family/Dell Medical School.
Dr. Catanzano’s research interests include trends in psychotropic drug use, interprofessional healthcare delivery, and exploring wellness in educational settings. She is involved in several interprofessional community projects and serves as a mental health first aid instructor for the greater University of Texas community.
