Biography and Education
Clinical Biography
Krystal Duran, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker in the Musculoskeletal Institute with UT Health Austin. She is also a part of UT Health Austin’s Health Social Work care team. She specializes in client-centered care that focuses on every domain of a person’s life, utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and motivational therapy.
Krystal Duran received her masters in social work from the University of Texas at Austin and her bachelor’s degree in social work from Baylor University, with a minor in poverty and social justice. She has interned and worked with Child Protective Services in the state of Texas as a Conservatorship worker and continued her child welfare work with the Center for Child Protection as a bilingual therapist. Through the center, she was certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics.
Krystal Duran has experience and knowledge in trauma care and understands the impact an event or experience can have on a person’s physical, emotional, behavioral, and social well-being. She has worked with individuals and groups of all ages, as well as families, multidisciplinary teams, and foster agencies.
