Biography and Education
Krystal Duran, LCSW is a clinically licensed social worker for the Musculoskeletal Institute with UT Health Austin. She is also a part of UT Health Austin’s Integrated Behavioral Health care team. Krystal specializes in client-centered care that focuses on every domain of a person’s life, utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and motivational therapy.
Krystal received her masters in social work from the University of Texas at Austin and her bachelors in social work from Baylor University, with a minor in Poverty and Social Justice. She has interned and worked with Child Protective Services in the state of Texas as a Conservatorship worker and continued her child welfare work with the Center for Child Protection as a Bilingual Therapist. Through the center, she was certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics.
Krystal has experience and knowledge in trauma care. She understands the impact an event or experience can have on a person’s physical, emotional, behavioral, and social well-being. She has worked with individuals and groups of all ages, as well as families, multidisciplinary teams, and foster agencies.
