Biography and Education

Clinical Biography

Greg Muller, PhD, is a licensed psychologist in both UT Health Austin’s Adult Psychiatry Clinic and UT Health Austin’s Trauma Recovery and Research Center. He specializes in the assessment and evidence-based treatment of anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and trauma/stress-related disorders. Additionally, Dr. Muller is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Muller earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology, his master’s degree in school psychology, and his doctorate in school psychology from the University of Florida. He completed an American Psychological Association-accredited predoctoral internship in psychology through the Centerstone Consortium and a postdoctoral fellowship in psychology through the University of Florida Department of Psychology, where he served as the Chief Postdoctoral Associate and received the Excellence in Peer Supervision Award.

Dr. Muller has clinical experience with children and adults across a continuum of care ranging from school-based settings to acute inpatient facilities. He also has considerable expertise in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for a variety of psychological disorders as well as proficiency in educational, psychological, and neuropsychological assessment. He developed a clinical specialty in CBT with exposure for the University of Florida Department of Psychology through his work with the University of Florida Department of Psychology’s OCD, Anxiety, and Related Disorders Treatment Program. He also served as Assistant Clinical Coordinator for the University of Florida’s Fear Facers Summer Camp. His primary research interests focus on clinical studies examining factors that impact treatment outcomes in OCD and anxiety disorders, with an emphasis on improving outcomes for both youth and adults. His current research efforts also include work on a D43 Fogarty Center and National Institutes of Health-sponsored project that trains Ukrainian clinicians in best-practice trauma interventions.
