Clinical Biography

Gabriel Garza, MD is a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children’s. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he was recognized for demonstrated excellence in clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service. He completed residency training in psychiatry and his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Wake Forest University School of Medicine at North Carolina Baptist Health. During Dr. Garza’s time at Wake Forest, he was an active participant in medical student teaching, served as Chief Fellow and received numerous awards for service excellence and dedication to patient care. Dr. Garza sees children and adolescents up to 18 years old at his outpatient practice at the Texas Child Study Center at Dell Children’s Medical Center.

He is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Texas Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians, Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and American Psychological Association. Additionally Dr. Garza serves as Adjunct Clinical Affiliate, The University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Dell Medical School and Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Austin Campus.
