Clinical Biography
Barbara Chenoweth, LCSW-S, is a licensed clinical social worker in UT Health Austin’s Trauma Recovery and Research Center. She specializes in providing assessment and psychotherapy services for adult patients who experience difficulty managing and coping with symptoms related to trauma.
Barbara Chenoweth earned both her bachelor’s and master’s from The University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work. She completed her master’s level internship working with patients with severe mental health disorders at Austin State Hospital.
Barbara Chenoweth has extensive experience in working with people at different levels of care, including psychiatric emergencies, crisis management, psychiatric inpatient care, intensive outpatient care, and individual therapy. Her clinical training is in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She aspires to help people who experience symptoms of PTSD become more fully engaged in their daily lives.
