Biography and Education

Clinical Biography

Audrey Cortesi, PsyD, is a licensed pediatric psychologist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children’s, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in providing care for patients and families through the Dell Children’s Medical Center’s pediatric inpatient Consultation-Liaison Behavioral Health Team, where she serves as the Director of Consultation-Liaison Psychology. She also serves as the Site Director for the Comfort Ability Program at Dell Children’s, an evidence-based workshop for youth with chronic pain/functional symptoms and their caregivers. Additionally, Dr. Cortesi is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Dr. Cortesi completed her undergraduate education at the University of Arizona, earning dual degrees in Psychology (with a minor in Spanish) and Special Education and Rehabilitation (with an emphasis in Deaf Studies). She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium. She completed a predoctoral internship in psychology at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and a postdoctoral fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychology at the Dell Children’s Medical Center/Texas Child Study Center.

Dr. Cortesi’s clinical work incorporates developmental and environmental factors to adapt interventions to the unique needs of youth and families and to empower them to support improved mental health and overall well-being. Using a culturally responsive, evidence-based approach, she strives to create a collaborative space that highlights the inherent strengths of children, teens, and families. Dr. Cortesi also works closely with interpreter services to enhance collaboration across disciplines and promote health equity for linguistically diverse patients and families. Dr. Cortesi is a pediatric psychologist with UT Health Austin.
