Clinical Biography
Saleema Kherani, MD, MPH, is an ophthalmologist in UT Health Austin’s Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute. She specializes in adult and pediatric uveitis as well as cataract and anterior segment disorders of the eye. Additionally, Dr. Kherani is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Kherani earned her medical degree from The Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and her master’s degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, a fellowship in uveitis and ocular immunology at Northwestern University, and a postdoctoral research fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Kherani has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and presented at several national and international conferences. Her research interests focus on the outcomes of various treatments for ocular inflammation.
