About Early Pregnancy Loss

Through UT Health Austin’s Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility service, we provide holistic and supportive care to families who have experienced one or more miscarriages. Services include diagnosis and treatment of genetic, anatomic, hormonal, and immunologic abnormalities that impact pregnancy as well as behavioral health services.

We provide services for women experiencing one or more pregnancy losses prior to 20 weeks of gestation, including those who have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss, which is two or more consecutive miscarriages.

Care Team Approach

At UT Health Austin, we take a multidisciplinary approach to your care, meaning you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines. The Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility care team includes reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialists, psychiatrists, dietitians, social workers, and more, who work together to help you get back to the things in your life that matter most to you.

We collaborate with our colleagues at the Dell Medical School, The University of Texas at Austin, and UT Health San Antonio to utilize the latest research, diagnostic, and treatment techniques, allowing us to provide you with a comprehensive, coordinated care plan that incorporates cutting-edge medical treatment options specific to you. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.

Appointment Information

During your visit, the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility care team will conduct a thorough evaluation of your medical history and, if needed, conduct a pelvic ultrasound to develop a diagnostic plan specific to you. We address not only your medical needs, but also your emotional needs by providing in-house support services.

For all of our patients who become pregnant, we will monitor your pregnancy closely with blood work and weekly ultrasounds until you graduate to seeing your general obstetrician.
