About This Clinic
Women’s Reproductive Mental Health of Texas is a specialty clinic within UT Health Austin's Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences provides clinical care and medication management surrounding pregnancy and preconception planning for adult patients (18 years and older) with a history of mental health conditions or trauma. Care is also available to patients who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. We focus on the assessment and treatment of psychiatric disorders and emotional challenges during all reproductive transitions across your lifespan, including the menstrual cycle and the menopausal transition.

At UT Health Austin, we take a multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place to avoid having to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city. The Women’s Reproductive Mental Health of Texas care team includes women’s reproductive mental health specialists, psychiatrists, pharmacists, social workers, and more who work together to help you get back to the things in your life that matter most to you.
We collaborate with our colleagues at the Dell Medical School and The University of Texas at Austin to utilize the latest research and treatment techniques, allowing us to reduce the risk of complications throughout your pregnancy. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.
Appointment Information
At UT Health Austin, we focus on you, the whole patient, making sure that you have the support you need throughout your care. During your visit, you will receive an evaluation and treatment plan through preconception, pregnancy and the postpartum period to protect both you and your child from the potential risks of psychiatric illness and psychiatric medication exposure. By weighing the risks associated with your mental health condition(s) and various treatment options, we will help you to develop an individualized plan that encourages a healthy pregnancy throughout all stages of your pregnancy.
