Clinical Biography
Winifred Mak, MD, PhD, is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist in UT Health Austin’s Women’s Health Institute. She specializes in understanding oocyte and early embryo biology to help patients facing infertility issues and recurrent pregnancy loss. Additionally, Dr. Mak is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Women’s Health.
Dr. Mak earned her medical degree from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, a second residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Mak has authored and co-authored several publications ranging from the cost-effectiveness of preimplantation genetic screening for women 37 years of age and older undergoing IVF to polycystic ovarian syndrome and the risk of cardiovascular disease and thrombosis.
