Winifred Mak, MD, PhD, is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist for in UT Health Austin’s Women’s Health Institute. She specializes in understanding oocyte and early embryo biology to help patients facing infertility issues and recurrent pregnancy loss. Additionally, Dr. Mak is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Women’s Health.
Dr. Mak earned her medical degree from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, a second residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Mak has authored and co-authored several publications ranging from the cost-effectiveness of preimplantation genetic screening for women older than 37 Years undergoing IVF to polycystic ovarian syndrome and the risk of cardiovascular disease and thrombosis.
