Clinical Biography
Vijay Gorrepati, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist at UT Health Austin’s Bipolar Disorder Center within the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences. He specializes in bipolar disorder using an evidence-based treatment model that integrates pharmacological treatment with psychotherapy, peer support, and expert consultation. He is also interested in mentalization-based interventions and community mental health. Additionally, Dr. Gorrepati is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Gorrepati earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from The University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center in Temple, Texas. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the University of Chicago Medicine.
Dr. Gorrepati’s research focuses on novel pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments, as well as finding a deep understanding of current treatments’ comparative indications, efficacies, and mechanisms of action.
