Clinical Biography
Sylvia Deily, DC, Cert MDT, is a licensed chiropractor in UT Health Austin’s Back and Neck Pain Center within the Musculoskeletal Institute. She assesses patients, provides patients with evidence-based treatment options that incorporate patient preferences, and guides patients in active care strategies to help determine conservative care methods that work best for their condition. Additionally, Sylvia Deily is a health professional specialist in the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care.
Sylvia Deily earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences and her bachelor’s in architecture from The University of Texas at Austin. She also earned her Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Exercise Trainer Certification, McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy Certification, Primary Spine Care Provider Certification, and Therapeutic Pain Specialist Certification.
Sylvia Deily has worked in integrated and multidisciplinary practice environments for over 12 years. For more than 17 years, she has lectured and developed courses in rehabilitation and physical examination for acupuncturists, chiropractors, medical students, and nurses. She co-authored “The Role of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation After Lumbar Fusion Surgery for Degenerative Disease: A systematic Review,” which was published in the Journal of Neurosurgery Spine, as well as two chapters on lumbar spine and cervical spine rehabilitation in Rehabilitation of the Spine—A Practioner’s Manual (2nd Edition). She also co-presented “Integrated Practice Units: Chiropractors in Value-Based Healthcare” at the National Chiropractic Leadership Conference of the American Chiropractic Association.
