S. Lindsay Wood, MD

Clinical Biography

S. Lindsay Wood, MD, is a fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist and the Clinical Director of Ultrasound for Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. Additionally, Dr. Wood is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Women’s Health.

Dr. Wood graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. She earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The University of Arizona College of Medicine and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the The University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Wood’s clinical interests include maternal and fetal congenital heart disease, preterm birth prevention, ultrasound, and prenatal diagnosis. She strives to deliver compassionate, personable care to each of her patients while remaining committed to quality improvement, evidence-based medicine, and furthering her field through teaching and research. She is an active member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and has served on multiple committees within the organization. Her research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and she has presented her work at various national and international meetings. She is also a recipient of multiple teaching and research awards.

Dr. Wood is a maternal-fetal medicine specialist with UT Health Austin.
