Biography and Education

Clinical Biography

Rosalia Costello, PsyD, is a pediatric neuropsychologist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults with drug-resistant epilepsy who may be candidates for neurosurgery, as well as assessments for youth with various other medical conditions, including spina bifida, autoimmune encephalopathy, and genetic conditions. Additionally, Dr. Costello is an assistant professor of in the Dell Medical School Department of Neurology.

Dr. Costello received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Loyola University in Chicago, where she minored in Spanish language, Italian language, and communications and completed a study abroad program in Rome, Italy. She completed both her master’s degree and her doctorate in clinical psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from Adler University. Dr. Costello completed a predoctoral internship in pediatric neuropsychology at the University of Minnesota Medical Center and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Costello’s research currently focuses on health disparities and bilingual brain development in pediatric medical populations. She has presented locally, nationally, and internationally and is active in several neuropsychology organizations with the aim of fostering equity and inclusion for patients, students, and providers alike. She is a member at large on the Hispanic Neuropsychological Society (HNS) board of directors, serves on the organization New 2 Neuropsychology, and is a member of the following: American Psychological Association’s Division 40, Association of Neuropsychology Students and Trainees (ANST), American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN), Diversity/AACN/Pediatric Special Interest Group, Cultural/INS/Pediatric Special Interest Group, and Queer Neuropsychological Society.

Dr. Costello is a pediatric neuropsychologist with UT Health Austin.
