Clinical Biography
Rachel E. Mis, PhD, is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist in UT Health Austin’s Comprehensive Memory Center. She specializes in the clinical neuropsychological assessment of adults with a broad range of neurologic conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, movement disorders, and multiple sclerosis. Additionally, Dr. Mis is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Neurology at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Mis earned her master’s degree in psychology and her doctorate in both psychology and neuroscience from Temple University. She completed an internship in clinical psychology with a geriatric psychology/neuropsychology track at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and a fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Dell Medical School.
Dr. Mis conducts research on how digital technology affects everyday functioning in aging and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Her work aims to improve clinical assessment and help older adults maintain independence in daily activities. Her research has been supported by the National Institute on Aging and other national and local organizations, and she regularly presents at regional, national, and international conferences. She is a member of the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment, the American Psychological Association’s Division 40, and the International Neuropsychological Society.
