Clinical Biography
Nicholas Ortiz, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist in Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences at UT Health Austin. He specializes in treatment-resistant depression and directs the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation service. Additionally, Dr. Ortiz is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Ortiz earned his bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. He completed a residency in psychiatry at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.
Dr. Ortiz’s clinical interests include neurostimulation, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and inpatient psychiatry. He serves on the Medical Executive Council for Ascension Seton Shoal Creek and as the Clinical Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) for Ascension Seton Medical Center. He is a prolific instructor at Dell Medical School and also participates in research and publications.
