Clinical Biography
Mohammad A. Yousef, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist in Digestive Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. He specializes in advanced endoscopy, with expertise in endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic suturing, peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), and transmural stenting. Additionally, Dr. Yousef is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Yousef earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation, a fellowship in gastroenterology at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, a fellowship in gastrointestinal medicine at Geisinger College of Health Sciences, and a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at the University of California San Francisco.
Dr. Yousef’s previously served as Chief Gastrointestinal Fellow at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital. He is committed to delivering patient-centered care and advancing the field of gastroenterology. His clinical interests include therapeutic pancreaticobiliary endoscopy and minimally invasive procedures for complex gastrointestinal disorders. His research focuses on advancements in endoscopic techniques, esophageal and pancreaticobiliary diseases, and quality improvement in endoscopic procedures. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at national medical conferences. His clinical excellence has been recognized with several honors, including the Chief Gastroenterology Fellow of the Year Award from Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and a Poster Presentation Award at the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Annual Meeting. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
