Clinical Biography

Mohammad Alsumrain, MD, is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care medicine specialist in UT Health Austin’s Pulmonology Clinic. He specializes in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary vasculitis.

Additionally, Dr. Alsumrain is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas at Austin and serves as a teaching faculty member for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship program, where he supervises and mentors pulmonary fellows.

Dr. Alsumrain earned his medical degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Jordan. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Trinitas Regional Medical Center through Seton Hall University, a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at Saint Michael’s Medical Center through Seton Hall University, and a fellowship in interstitial lung disease and pulmonary vasculitis at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Alsumrain’s clinical and research interests focus on asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary imaging. He is an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Thoracic Society.
