Dr. Michael Breen is a gynecologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of chronic pelvic pain. As a member of Women’s Health at UT Health Austin, Dr. Breen is focusing his work in women’s health on chronic pelvic pain and applying his expertise in minimally-invasive surgery including robotic and laparoscopic surgery to this disorders.
As a child, Dr. Breen took an active interest in medicine, often shadowing his uncle though rounds at Houston’s Medical Center. After receiving his bachelor’s in biology from UT and his medical degree from UTMB, Dr. Breen completed his integrated residency at the University of Arizona School of Medicine. In 1988, the native Texan returned and began practicing in Austin.
Dr. Breen has been an educator for over a decade. Prior to joining the inaugural faculty at Dell Medical School, Dr. Breen taught at UT Southwestern, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and the Central Texas Medical Foundation. Dr. Breen is proud to be a part of the Women’s Health Institute and an active participant in rethinking women’s health.
