Biography and Education

Clinical Biography

Mary Rieger, MD, MAS, is a fellowship-trained female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon in Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. Additionally, she is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Women’s Health.

Dr. Rieger earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and her master’s degree in clinical research from the University of California San Diego. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center/University of California San Diego.

Dr. Rieger has co-authored several peer-review publications on topics such as quantifying the effects of aging on morphological and cellular properties of human female pelvic floor muscles. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Urogynecologic Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society

Dr. Rieger is a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgeon with UT Health Austin.
