Clinical Biography

Julie Farrington, MD is an adult psychiatrist in UT Health Austin Pediatric Psychiatry at Dell Children’s specializing in the treatment of anxiety. She received her undergraduate degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin, going on to complete additional graduate courses in Economics at Rice University and finally Neuropsychology graduate courses at University of Houston - Central Park. She completed her medical degree at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Dr. Farrington then completed her internship and residency in Psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center and her fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry from Emory University Medical Center.

A psychiatrist since 1995, Dr. Farrington experiences include private and solo practice, serving as a Psychiatrist for a Women’s Correctional Institute and now Medical Director for the Austin State Hospital. Dr. Farrington also serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Dell Medical School.
