Clinical Biography
Julie Farrington, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist in UT Health Austin’s Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in the treatment of anxiety in adults. Additionally, Dr. Farrington is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Farrington earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and her bachelor’s in economics from The University of Texas at Austin. She also completed graduate courses in economics at Rice University and graduate courses in neuropsychology at the University of Houston–University Park. She completed a residency in psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center and a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Emory University.
Dr. Farrington’s experience spans both private and solo practices. She currently serves as the Medical Director at Ascension Seton Shoal Creek Hospital and has served as the Medical Director for the Austin State Hospital and as a psychiatrist for a Women’s Correctional Institute.
