Clinical Biography

Jordan M. Jacquez, MD, is a board-certified rheumatologist in UT Health Austin’s Rheumatology Clinic. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with rheumatological conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and psoriatic arthritis. Additionally, Dr. Jacquez is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Jacquez earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude, and his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine. He completed both an internship and residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital through the Washington University School of Medicine and a fellowship in rheumatology at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Jacquez has researched the long-term effects of hydroxychloroquine on lupus patients. His recent publication in ACR Open Rheumatology explores the role of antiretinal autoantibodies in predicting future risk of hydroxychloroquine-induced eye toxicity. He has presented his work at national conferences, including the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Convergence, and was also invited to present an intriguing clinical case at a regional rheumatology conference to foster discussion on diagnosing and managing patients.

Dr. Jacquez will begin seeing patients September 4, 2025. He is accepting appointments now.
