Clinical Biography

Joanna Lopez is an Associate Provider for the Musculoskeletal Institute at UT Health Austin. As a board certified Physician Assistant, she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of lower and upper extremity orthopedic conditions in adults. Prior to joining the UT Health Austin, she was involved in managing and surgically assisting in total hip and knee joint replacements and arthroscopy.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University at College Station. Her passion for preventive medicine and improving quality of care grew during her master studies at Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health where she enjoyed working with the underserved population. She continued her education at the University of Texas in San Antonio and graduated with a master of Physician Assistant.

As an outdoor enthusiast and active young professional in Austin, she has special interest in orthopedics. She states, “I find great joy helping others live their life to the fullest.”
