Biography and Education
Clinical Biography
Joanna Lopez, PA-C, MPH, is a licensed physician assistant in UT Health Austin’s Musculoskeletal Institute. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of lower and upper extremity orthopedic conditions.
Joanna Lopez earned her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree in public health from Texas A&M School of Rural Public Health, and a second master’s in physician assistant studies from The University of Texas in San Antonio. She is also trained in managing and surgically assisting in total hip and knee joint replacements and arthroscopy.
Joanna Lopez participates in annual mission trips to Antigua, Guatemala under the non-profit Faith in Practice, where she and helps diagnose and treat patients and provides support as a surgical first assist in orthopedics. She is also currently participating in multiple research studies at UT Health Austin and looks forward to publishing in the future.
