Biography and Education

Clinical Biography

Jess Goldstein-Kral, PhD, (they/he) is an employment and education coach at the Amplify Center, a clinical partnership between Austin Community College and UT Health Austin. They use a sociological approach and consider both the social institutions and systems of inequality that shape people’s lived experiences as well as each person’s unique strengths and resiliencies, to provide culturally competent and affirming care.

Dr. Goldstein-Kral earned their bachelor’s degree in sociology from The Ohio State University. They received a doctorate in sociology from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied social inequality, health, and relationships. They previously supported students as a teaching assistant and instructor and as a mentor at the university’s Gender and Sexuality Center.
