Clinical Biography
Jared Fridley, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon and Co-Director of UT Health Austin’s Spine and Nerve Center. He specializes in complex spine surgery, spinal cord injuries, neuromodulation, and minimally invasive techniques. Additionally, Dr. Fridley is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Neurosurgery at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Fridley earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from The University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a residency in neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine and a fellowship in complex spine surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he refined his expertise in spinal reconstruction and neurotechnology applications in spine care
Dr. Fridley’s clinical and research interests focus on spinal cord injury, neuromodulation, and spinal surgery outcomes. He previously served as an associate professor at Brown University and as the Co-Principal Investigator for the Intelligent Spine Interface clinical trial. His work has been featured in leading journals and textbooks, advancing surgical techniques and patient outcomes for complex spinal conditions. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and scientific abstracts. He is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
