Clinical Biography

Eileen C. Bowden, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the Clinical Director of UT Health Austin’s Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute. She specializes in adult and pediatric glaucoma. Additionally, Dr. Bowden is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Bowden earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and her bachelor’s in business administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. She completed a transitional year internship at the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin, a residency in ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt Sinai, and a fellowship in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Bowden’s research interests involve outcomes of glaucoma surgery, patient education, and medical education.
