Biography and Education
Deepak Agrawal, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist and fellowship-trained hepatologist in the Gastroenterology clinical practice within Digestive Health, the clinical partnership between UT Health Austin and Ascension Seton. He also serves as the Medical Director for Digestive Health. He specializes in treating patients with digestive health and liver concerns, including cirrhosis, constipation, diverticulosis, esophagitis, gastritis and duodenitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), peptic ulcer disease, intestinal obstruction, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and pancreatic cancer. Additionally, Dr. Agarwal is an associate professor and the Chief of Gastroenterology for the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Agrawal earned his medical degree from Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai, India. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University, a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Brown University, and a second fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Agrawal is an international speaker and prolific researcher (59 studies). He serves on the review boards of several medical journals and is the Co-Director of the Bridges to Better Care program. He is also a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterology Association.
