Deepak Agrawal, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist and hepatologist in UT Health Austin’s Gastroenterology Clinic. He specializes in treating patients with digestive health and liver concerns including: cirrhosis, constipation, diverticulosis, esophagitis, gastritis and duodenitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), intestinal obstruction, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), pancreatic cancer and peptic ulcer disease. Additionally, Dr. Agarwal is an associate professor and the Chief of Gastroenterology for the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Agrawal earned his medical degree from Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai, India and completed his residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University. He also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Brown University as well as a second fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Agrawal is an international speaker, prolific researcher (59 studies), and sits on the review boards of several medical journals. His is also a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterology Association, and he is the co-director of the Bridges to Better Care program.
