Biography and Education
Clinical Biography
Daniel Stromberg, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician, pediatric cardiologist, and pediatric cardiac critical care intensivist and serves as the Director of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care for the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, a clinical partnership between Dell Children’s Medical Center and UT Health Austin. With more than 22 years of experience, he specializes in pediatric heart disease and cardiac intensive care. Additionally, Dr. Stromberg is an associate professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Pediatrics and a professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care.
Dr. Stromberg graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, where he served as Chief Resident. He also completed both a fellowship in pediatric cardiology and an advanced fellowship in pediatric cardiac critical care/heart transplantation at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Stromberg’s research interests include investigation of cardioprotectants for use during congenital heart surgery, new modes of pediatric resuscitation, and development of devices for critical care. He has garnered several grants for his work, published numerous articles, and given many presentations throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is also a member of the Society of Pediatric Research, the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Heart Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Stromberg is a pediatric cardiologist and pediatric cardiac critical care intensivist with UT Health Austin.
