Biography and Education
Clinical Biography
Christine Bartow, DO, is a board-certified psychiatrist in UT Health Austin’s Adult Psychiatry Clinic and a psychiatric consultant in the Amplify Center, a clinical partnership between Austin Community College and UT Health Austin. She specializes in psychiatric treatment for individuals with chronic medical conditions and offers collaborative care consultation for transitional-age youth in the Austin community. Additionally, Dr. Bartow is an assistant professor and serves as the Associate Program Director of the Psychiatry Residency for the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Bartow earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Edward’s University, where she graduated magna cum laude, and her medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in general psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine, where she served her final two years as chief resident, and a fellowship in consultation liaison psychiatry at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.
Dr. Bartow has been consistently recognized for her leadership, administrative contributions, and teaching skills. She has been awarded Faculty Mentor of the Year and Faculty Member of the Year by her general psychiatry residents. She is passionate about general psychiatry resident education, curriculum development, leadership development, efficiency in practice, and physician well being. She is an active member of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training and the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
