Biography and Education
Clinical Biography
Christine Bartow, DO, is a board-certified adult general psychiatrist and consultation-liaison psychiatrist in UT Health Austin’s Adult Psychiatry Clinic and the Amplify Center, a clinical partnership between Austin Community College and UT Health Austin. The Amplify Clinic provides collaborative care consultation for transitional age youth in the Austin community. . Her areas of special clinical interest include psychiatric treatment of individuals with chronic medical conditions and early identification and interventions for transitional age youth. Dr. Bartow is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. She serves as Associate Program Director for the General Psychiatry Residency and Clinical Director for UT Health Austin’s Psychiatry Clinics.
Dr. Bartow graduated magna cum laude from St. Edward’s University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She completed medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed general psychiatry residency at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she served her final two years as chief resident. She completed her consultation liaison psychiatry fellowship at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. She is board-certified in both general psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry.
Dr. Bartow has been consistently recognized for her leadership, administrative contributions, and teaching skills. The general psychiatry residents have awarded her faculty mentor of the year and faculty member of the year. Dr. Bartow is passionate about general psychiatry resident education, curriculum development, leadership development, efficiency in practice, and physician well being. Dr. Bartow is an active member of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training (AADPRT) and the Academy of Consultation-Liaison PSychiatry (ACLP).
