Clinical Biography

Christina “Tina” Alexander, LCSW-S, is a licensed clinical social worker in UT Health Austin’s Amplify Center. She specializes in providing trauma-informed care and therapy to young adults, with a focus on identity, culture, mental health, and the unique challenges faced by high-achieving individuals.

Tina Alexander earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and studio arts with a minor in religion from Dartmouth College and her master’s degree in social work from The University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work. Throughout her education, she developed a strong commitment to understanding the complex relationship between identity, culture, and mental health.

Tina Alexander has experience in community-based mental health, fieldwork, higher education, and private practice. She fosters a supportive, client-centered environment that helps individuals navigate personal and professional stressors, promoting resilience and well-being. Her clinical interests include supporting high-performing individuals, particularly former athletes, in managing mental health challenges while maintaining success. She is also passionate about addressing issues related to food, culture, and body image, and their impact on mental well-being. In her therapeutic work, she actively engages in community initiatives and stays informed on the latest research in trauma-informed care and the intersection of mental health and performance.
