Clinical Biography
Carla Cos, RDN, LD, CDCES is a registered dietitian in the UT Health Austin Primary Care Clinic, Post-COVID-19 Program, Rheumatology Clinic, and both the Comprehensive Memory Center and Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center. She is also a part of UT Health Austin’s Health Social Work care team. She specializes in evidence-based nutrition education and counseling with a focus on diabetes, weight management, cardiovascular health, and gastrointestinal disorders.
Carla Cos earned her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from The University of Texas at Austin, where she also completed a dietetic internship through the Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
Carla Cos has more than six years of experience working in outpatient counseling and clinical nutrition. She is passionate about taking a patient-centered approach to nutrition counseling and follows an “all foods fit” philosophy. She uses motivational interviewing along with nutrition education to support patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes to achieve their health goals.
