Biography and Education
Carla Cos, RDN, LD, CDCES is a registered dietitian in UT Health Austin’s Primary Care Clinic, Post-COVID-19 Program, Comprehensive Memory Center, Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center within the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences, and Rheumatology Clinic. She is also a part of UT Health Austin’s Integrated Behavioral Health care team. She specializes in evidence-based nutrition education and counseling with a focus on diabetes, weight management, cardiovascular health, and gastrointestinal disorders.
Carla earned her bachelor’s in Nutrition from The University of Texas at Austin, where she also completed a dietetic internship through the Coordinated Program in Dietetics.
Carla has more than five years of experience working in outpatient counseling and clinical nutrition. She is passionate about taking a patient-centered approach to nutrition counseling and follows an “all foods fit” philosophy. She uses motivational interviewing along with nutrition education to support patients in making sustainable lifestyle changes to achieve their health goals.
