Biography and Education
Clinical Biography
Aman Mittal, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist in UT Health Austin’s Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute. He specializes in corneal transplantation, corneal cross-linking, refractive cataract surgery, complex cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and the management of severe ocular surface disease. Additionally, Dr. Mittal is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Mittal earned his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Duke University, where he graduated magna cum laude, and his medical degree from Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Adventist Health White Memorial, a residency in ophthalmology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute.
Dr. Mittal has extensive experience in implementing innovative clinical workflows that leverage healthcare technology to enhance the quality and efficiency of patient care. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
