Clinical Biography

Alexandra Guevara, PT, DPT, is a licensed pelvic floor physical therapist in Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. She specializes in pelvic floor dysfunctions including bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction for individuals of all genders. Her special interest is treating patients with oncologic pelvic floor conditions and improving patients’ quality of life.

Alexandra Guevara earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, followed by a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Texas Women’s University in Houston, Texas. She completed training for pelvic health levels 1 and 2, oncology pelvic health levels 1 and 2, male pelvic health, vulvar pain, bowel pathology, and pain science. Additionally, she is a certified clinical instructor and enjoys mentoring students. She received a green belt certification for Lean Six Sigma, with various projects completed at MD Anderson Cancer Center for reducing clinic wait times for returning patients and reducing surgical complications after breast surgery for breast cancer.

Alexandra Guevara’s research and clinical interests include educating patients and providers on pelvic floor therapy and improving clinic processes. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy.
