Biography and Education

Clinical Biography

Alexandra Guevara, PT, DPT, is a licensed pelvic floor physical therapist in Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. She specializes in pelvic floor dysfunctions, including bladder and bowel issues, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction, for individuals of all genders.

Alexandra Guevara earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin and her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Texas Women’s University. She has completed additional training in pelvic health levels 1 and 2, oncology pelvic health levels 1 and 2, male pelvic health, vulvar pain, bowel pathology, and pain science. She is also a certified clinical instructor and holds a Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma, with several projects completed at MD Anderson Cancer Center aimed at reducing clinic wait times for returning patients and minimizing surgical complications after breast cancer surgery.

Alexandra Guevara’s research and clinical interests focus on educating patients and providers about pelvic floor therapy, enhancing clinic processes, and specializing in the treatment of oncologic pelvic floor conditions to improve patients’ quality of life. She enjoys mentoring students and is a member of the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and the American Physical Therapy Association.
