Christine Bartow, DO

Clinical Biography

Christine Bartow, DO, is a board-certified adult general psychiatrist and consultation-liaison psychiatrist in UT Health Austin’s Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences and the Amplify Center, a clinical partnership between Austin Community College and UT Health Austin. She has subspecialty training in consultation-liaison psychiatry. Additionally, Dr. Bartow is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and serves as Clinical Director for UT Health Austin’s Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences and Associate Program Director for the General Psychiatry Residency.

Dr. Bartow graduated magna cum laude from St. Edward’s University with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned a medical degree from The University of North Texas Health Science Center-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed a residency in adult general psychiatry at the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine, in Tulsa, OK where she served as chief resident during her final two years. She completed a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School.

Dr. Bartow’s clinical interests include treatment of transitional age youth and young professionals (ages 18-35), concussion/TBI, mood and anxiety disorders, and psychiatric treatment in those with complex, chronic medical conditions. Additionally, Dr. Bartow is passionate about resident education including curriculum development, psychiatric interview skills, feedback, self-assessment and goal-setting, and stress management/wellness. She is active in several national organizations.
