About the ASC
UT Health Austin’s Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) gives patients (10 years and older) and their physicians a convenient and safe alternative for outpatient and selected short-stay surgical procedures. Fully equipped with the latest technology and IT integration, the ASC is staffed to provide same-day surgical care.
Inside the ASC, you will find four operating suites with state-of-the-art preoperative and post-anesthesia areas as well as 13 private, 110-square-foot recovery rooms that enable patients to recuperate post-surgery in the comfort of their own space. Advanced imaging and diagnostic technologies are also available in the adjacent Health Discovery Building if needed.
In 2023, the Ambulatory Surgery Center was recognized by Newsweek as one of America's Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers, ranking number 33 in Texas and number 3 in Austin.
In 2023, the Ambulatory Surgery Center achieved re-accreditation through the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) after demonstrating a commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to patients.
In 2021, the Ambulatory Surgery Center was recognized by the CHIME “Digital Health Most Wired” program as a level 9 organization for not only having implemented advanced technologies, but also leveraging these technologies in innovative ways that have realized meaningful outcomes, including improved quality of care, improved patient experience, reduced costs, and broader patient access to healthcare services.

Our Facility
UT Health Austin is housed in the Health Transformation Building (HTB). The HTB is located in downtown Austin, TX on The University of Texas at Austin campus and neighbors the Dell Medical School research and learning buildings as well as the Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas.
This facility is outfitted with the latest state-of-the-art technology and organized to support an unmatched level of multidisciplinary care. Patients have access to all of the resources and amenities UT Health Austin has to offer, including attached garage parking, comfortable waiting areas, an on-site cafe, a full-service H-E-B pharmacy, advanced imaging and lab testing, and an Ambulatory Surgery Center for same-day surgical care.
