Clinical Biography
Eileen C. Bowden, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist in UT Health Austin’s Mitchel and Shannon Wong Eye Institute. She specializes in adult and pediatric glaucoma as well as cataract and anterior segment disorders of the eye. Additionally, Dr. Bowden is an assistant professor and serves as both the Director of Medical Student Education and the Associate Residency Program Director for the Dell Medical School Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Bowden earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. and her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mt Sinai and a fellowship in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Dr. Bowden has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. Her research interests include outcomes of glaucoma surgery and improvements in policy and patient education.
