Kimberly Carter, MD has spent over 20 years providing health care to the women of Austin and Travis County. As a women’s health provider at UT Health Austin, Dr. Carter specializes in the treatment of burning or shooting pain, stinging, or irritation of the vulva (vulvodynia) as well as general women’s health and wellness.
In addition to her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Carter has a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Chicago. She has focused her research on both vulvodynia and the prevention of teen pregnancy, and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Women’s Health at Dell Medical School.
Outside of the care room, Dr. Carter is a passionate patient advocate. She serves on numerous boards related to the health care industry and has participated in dozens of panels, national public service announcements, lectures and testimonies regarding women’s health.
