Clinical Biography

Ziv Beckerman, MD is a cardiothoracic heart surgeon who has joined the UT Health Austin’s Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. He completed his Bachelor in Science and Medical Degree at Medical University of Debrecen, Hungary. He completed his internship and cardiothoracic residency at Rambam Health Care Campus, The Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, Israel where he was also named Chief Resident of the Cardiac Surgery Department, and received several awards for excellence in both teaching and research in the medical field. Dr. Beckerman went on to complete several postgraduate fellowships: 1. Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship at the Edmond J. Safra International Congenital heart Center, Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv, Israel, 2. International Congenital Cardiac Surgery Fellowship in Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, TX and 3. an Advanced Aortic Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Beckerman served as a clinical instructor for Congenital Heart Surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital and Assistant professor of the Cardiac Surgery Department at the Rambam Medical Campus, The Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine. He has an extensive background in research, writing, presenting and instructing medical students and residents, and holds a medical patent for Vascular Bypass Measurement, Quality Control for Bypass Grafts. Dr. Beckerman has a robust experience in operating on babies as well as adults with congenital heart disease and genetic syndromes and will see patients and perform surgery at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
