Clinical Biography

Tawny Smith is a board-certified psychiatric pharmacist serving as a psychopharmacology consultant in the Mulva Clinic for the Neurosciences and other UT Health Austin clinics and institutes. She attended the University of Illinois-Chicago, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1998. She completed her psychiatric pharmacy residency training at The University of Texas at Austin in 1999. Following that, she completed a two-year fellowship in mental health outcomes at UT Austin. She serves as an associate professor of psychiatry at Dell Medical School and has additional appointments in the University of Texas Medical Branch’s Department of Psychiatry and UT Austin College of Pharmacy.

She has more than 70 published abstracts, peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. In her free time, Smith enjoys running, trying out new Austin restaurants, cooking/baking and spending time with her family.
