Clinical Biography

Sagarika Satyavada, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist in Digestive Health, a clinical partnership between Ascension Seton and UT Health Austin. She specializes in gastroenterology, transplant hepatology, and advanced endoscopy. Additionally, Dr. Satyavada is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Satyavada earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from New York University and a medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, a fellowship in gastroenterology at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and two additional fellowships in transplant hepatology and advanced endoscopy at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

Dr. Satyavada’s research interests include gastrointestinal endoscopy, nutrition for liver and pancreaticobiliary disease, the performance of intracystic concentrations of glucose and CEA in the identification of mucin-producing cystic neoplasms of the pancreas, outcomes in Endoscopic glue therapy with the use of Doppler probe and endoscopic ultrasound-guided gastric variceal management. Her research interests also include the application of advanced endoscopy to patients with advanced liver disease (i.e. endo-hepatology) with the goal of optimizing the quality of care for these complex patients.

Dr. Satyadava is an active member of the American College of Physicians and the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is also a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
