Biography and Education
Melissa DeHaan, RN, MPH, is a licensed registered nurse and the Nurse Manager for both Women’s Health, a clinical partnership between UT Health Austin and Ascension Seton, and UT Health Austin’s Livestrong Cancer Institutes. She is also a part of both UT Health Austin’s Hereditary Cancer Screening and Risk Reduction care team and UT Health Austin’s CaLM Care Team.
Melissa DeHaan earned her master’s in public health from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, her bachelor’s in nursing from The University of Texas at Austin, and her bachelor’s in engineering from Cornell University.
Melissa DeHaan formerly worked with the Federally Qualified Health Center system of Travis County, where she launched several new clinics and services and developed a comprehensive clinical orientation program. She is an advocate for the underinsured and founded a non-profit that assists with costs for health care for women. She also provides high quality health care and prevention education to children and adults in Travis County with no other access to care through the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic.
