Clinical Biography

John Nguyen, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist in UT Health Austin’s Comprehensive Pain Management Clinic. He specializes in the treatment of addiction, depression, and anxiety through both medical and psychotherapy approaches. Additionally, Dr. Nguyen is an affiliate faculty member in the Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. Nguyen earned his medical degree from Stanford University. He completed a residency in psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Nguyen currently serves as the Associate Medical Director for Crisis, Residential and Substance Use Services with Integral Care and is an adjunct assistant professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine. In the past, he served as Director of Addiction Treatment Services at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
