Kita Laird is is a Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner with 20 years as a nurse practitioner. She joins the Women’s Health Institute as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.
Kita started her pathway to medicine early by working at the front office of a local hospital in high school. Beginning her medical career as an LVN in labor and delivery at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin she discovered her love for women’s healthcare. She has since worked for University of Texas Medical Branch, Baylor College of Medicine, City of Corpus Christi Health Department, Baylor Scott and White and most recently The OB GYN Group of Austin. Through these experiences she has developed strong advanced practice skills in acute and routine management of ob/gyn issues including abnormal pap management, colposcopy, complex gynecology management, birth control, biopsy and well woman care. She brings her life’s work in medicine to the UT Health Austin Women’s health Institute. It is her goal to provide personalized, compassionate high quality healthcare to each of her patients.
She belongs to Texas Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has been the Recipient of Nursing and the Law Scholarship Award 1994 as well as Scott and White FOCUS STAR Award for Excellent Customer Service 2011.
Kita is a dedicated native Texan who is happy to call Central Texas her home. She is married and enjoys a close relationship with her two children and granddaughter who live locally. She enjoys jewelry making, entertaining and photography.
