About This Institute

UT Health Austin’s Women’s Health Institute is dedicated to providing whole-woman care through a wide range of services, including annual well-woman exams, complex gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, menopause care, cancer fertility preservation, and more, in patients (13 years and older) who identify as women or were assigned female at birth. We are here to listen and work with you to develop a treatment plan that focuses on the goals that matter to you.

Treatment Approach

At UT Health Austin, we take a multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place to avoid having to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city. The Women’s Health Institute care team includes women’s health specialists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, obstetrician-gynecologists, urogynecologists, gynecologists, pelvic floor physical therapists, oncofertility advanced nurse practitioners, genetic counselors, reproductive endocrinologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and more, who work together to help you get back to the things in your life that matter most to you.

We collaborate with our colleagues at the Dell Medical School and The University of Texas at Austin to utilize the latest research, diagnostic, and treatment techniques, allowing us to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care and the ongoing support you deserve to live a healthier and more fulfilling life. Advanced imaging and lab testing are also available on-site if needed.

UTHA building

UT Health Austin is housed in the Health Transformation Building (HTB). The HTB is located in downtown Austin, TX on The University of Texas at Austin campus and neighbors the Dell Medical School research and learning buildings as well as the Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas.

This facility is outfitted with the latest state-of-the-art technology and organized to support an unmatched level of multidisciplinary care. Patients have access to all of the resources and amenities UT Health Austin has to offer, including attached garage parking, comfortable waiting areas, an on-site cafe, a full-service H-E-B pharmacy, advanced imaging and lab testing, and an Ambulatory Surgery Center for same-day surgical care.

Announcement of Physician Departure

Effective May 14, 2021, Maureen Christian, PT, WCS, CLT, will no longer be seeing patients at UT Health Austin. Patients should receive a notification by mail or they can download the patient notification letter here. Additionally, effective June 11, 2021, Teresa Reed, PA-C, will no longer be seeing patients at UT Health Austin. Her patient notification letter can be found here. If you wish to keep your care with UT Health Austin, no action is necessary. If, however, you wish to find another provider, please visit our Medical Records page for information on requesting your medical records.
