About This Clinical Practice
The Heartburn and Esophageal Disorders clinical practice is a specialized team within Digestive Health, a clinical partnership between UT Health Austin and Ascension Seton, which includes Dell Seton Medical Center, Seton Williamson Hospital, and Seton Northwest Hospital.
The Heartburn and Esophageal Disorders clinical team diagnoses, treats, and manages disorders of the foregut (specifically the esophagus and stomach), including achalasia, Barrett’s Esophagus, complex hiatal hernias, GERD, and other esophageal disorders, in adult patients (18 years and older). We want to improve your overall health and quality of life by diagnosing and treating the cause of your gastroesophageal reflux (acid reflux).
Located in the clinical spaces at UT Health Austin with access to full-scale hospital resources, the Heartburn and Esophageal Disorders team has the ability to provide the most advanced treatments available for patients in Central Texas and beyond with a focus on patient-centered outcomes, cutting-edge research, and medical education.
We take a multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place to avoid having to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city. The Heartburn and Esophageal Disorders care team includes surgical and non-surgical heartburn and esophageal disorders specialists, gastroenterologists, registered nurses, physician assistants, dietitians, social workers, and more, who work together to help you get back to the things in your life that matter most to you.
