About This Service
UT Health Austin’s Integrated Behavioral Health service is comprised of licensed clinical social workers, dietitians, and a behavioral health pharmacist, who work alongside medical specialists to treat the whole patient, not just their physical symptoms. These three disciplines function as an integral part of the UT Health Austin clinics and provide a variety of services, including managing and coping with everyday stress, crisis intervention, and counseling as well as health insurance advocacy and help obtaining housing assistance, financial assistance, and legal assistance, to ensure you are receiving the highest quality of care and support. We understand that both medical and behavioral health factors play a significant role in enhancing your social and physical functioning and overall well-being.
At UT Health Austin, we take a multidisciplinary approach to your care. This means you will benefit from the expertise of multiple specialists across a variety of disciplines caring for you in one place to avoid having to schedule multiple appointments with providers at locations all over the city.The Integrated Behavioral Health care team includes licensed clinical social workers, dietitians, and behavioral health pharmacists, who work together with clinicians from all areas of specialty across UT Health Austin to help you get back to the things in your life that matter most to you.
We also collaborate with our colleagues at the Dell Medical School and The University of Texas at Austin to stay informed of the latest research, diagnostic, and treatment techniques, allowing us to help you manage your diagnosis as well as any personal, social, or emotional difficulties you are experiencing. Imaging and lab testing are also available on site if needed.
